College dreams - bunka fashion college
The college was founded as Namiki Dressmaking School in 1919 by Isaburo Namiki at a time when western-style clothes for women were ultra modern and expensive. In 1923, it became the first authorized vocational college of fashion. It contributed to popularizing western style garments in Japan through education and publication of books on dressmaking and fashion.
The school’s name was changed to Bunka Fashion College in 1936 when it also started publishing the now prestigious fashion magazine So-en, actually Japan’s first fashion magazine.
After WWII, Bunka shifted from tailoring to educating its students as commercial-oriented fashion professionals. Starting in the 1960s, many Bunka graduates entered the Paris Collections. Among the first to make their mark internationally were Kenzo Takada and Yohji Yamamoto. They paved the way for such promising new talents as Atsuro Tayama and Keita Maruyama.
Bunka established Japan’s first graduate school of fashion business and design in 2003.
It has over 70 branches all over Japan and has exchange programs with Central Saint Martins in London and Parsons in New York.
Bunka Fashion Collage is located in Shinjuku new urban center. With a 20-story intelligent building as its center, the campus spreads over a vast site. The locational conditions are ideal for studying fashion, as fashionable towns such as Harajuku, Aoyama and Shibuya are just stone's throw away. In addition to studying in the college, firsthand knowledge of worldwide fashion trend can be grasped in such places, which causes synergistic learning effect.
Really, the clothes made by students of this college is beautiful!
What about this amazing costumes?
Bunka Fashion College students presented at a fashion show three items of clothing, covered with Austrian gold coins in excess of 1500 pieces! Coins granted loans Austrian Mint. They were hand-sewn on the jacket and two full-length dress. Weight dress after work exceeded 10 kg, heavier jackets - 15 kg. Value of coins are used for the lady's wardrobe - more than $ 1.2 million >_<

Andrej Pejic
biography
Country of origin: Bosnia-Herzegovina
Father is Croatian, mother is Serbian. Born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina; left in the 90's with his family from the war ravaged country eventually settling in Melbourne Australia. From WWD profile December 20, 2010: "Since the fashion industry first began asking “Who’s the blonde girl?” at the Paris men’s shows in June (2010), 19-year- old Serbian Australian model Andrej Pejic has emerged as a poster boy for fashion androgyny."
In January 2011, Andrej walked for Jean Paul Gaultier in his men's show and for the January 2011 couture show, eventually appearing in the Spring/Summer 2011 Jean Paul Gaultier campaign with Karolina Kurkova. The same season, he appeared in the Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign. Named one of OUT Magazine's 100 Most Compelling People of 2011.
I think his life is really amazing. And I hope his beauty and talent will long to please us. <3
